As the end of the school year draws near, summer is on its way and that means there are numerous opportunities that can be both fun and educational. Here in northeast Ohio, there are plenty of things to keep your son busy, with an abundance of natural resources, especially with our close proximity to Lake Erie, which boasts destinations like the very popular Geneva-on-the-Lake and the Historic Ashtabula Harbor.

Alongside our numerous water-centered activities, we also are gifted with a beautiful park system boasting numerous walking trails. This includes the Western Reserve Greenway Trail that stretches 44 scenic miles through Ashtabula and Trumbull counties, which is utilized by students and faculty alike, especially with our local access point here in Austinburg.

Another thing that brings photographers and enthusiasts from all around no matter the time of year; our beautiful covered bridges that depict a real touch of just what Ohio is, a historical conglomeration of our past and how it has impacted us today. A real-time history lesson and scenic trip all tied into one package.

However, the fun doesn’t stop there! Grand River Academy takes full advantage of the summer and utilizes it for a prime time to get your son ahead of the game. Is there a certain subject he needs to strengthen without a lot of extra distractions? Then keep our Summer Academic Camp in mind. This annual experience offers the opportunity for your son to focus on one particular subject outside of the traditional school year. Also, he will be able to brush up on his leadership and camaraderie skills while gaining a top-notch hands-on learning experience.

With so many things to do we still keep our local presence as a school with a very peaceful and quiet community with in a serene and rural setting. With close proximity to the Cleveland, OH and Pittsburgh, PA metropolitan areas, it always feels good to come back to a place that you can call home at the end of the day.
